day one hundred and seven - push it real good
This year, I’d planned to do a bunch of physical challenges and charity events as part of this project. Needless to say that the vast majority of those have been cancelled which leaves me without the same motivation I had to improve my fitness, and in turn, my mental health.
Whilst scrolling, I saw “The Push-Up Challenge” - an Australian initiative for mental health that can be done in isolation. You have to do 3046 pushups in 21 days, one for each of the people who died by suicide in Australia in 2018. Fundraising is optional, but it goes towards Headspace, The Australia Youth Mental Health Foundation.
“Done!” I say to myself, not actually thinking about how feasible this would be for me… but like much of this year, I’m jumping in without thinking it through first.
Now, I’m a pretty big bloke, and I don’t have a lot of upper body strength. As for my core? HA! You’ll find a stronger one in a rotting apple. So it’s a bit scary. That said, you can be in teams!
So… from my weakling arms, terrified of holding up my hefty frame, please! Please join me! It’s too late, I’ve already bloody gone and registered! Aarrgghh!

I’ve chosen to direct any funds raised towards my local branch, Headspace Albury Wodonga, and have compiled some figures on how this may be achievable, (because, who doesn’t love numbers?).
Together, we can do this… alone, I’m going to break so bad!
